DOHERTY PASTURE ESTABLISHED, FJD BRAND TO BE USED

Brown Brothers Cattle Company establishes Doherty Pasture during summer of '04. FJD brand to be used on select heifers produced at 3 horses RANCH during fall of '04.

Brown Brothers Cattle Company announce during the summer of '04 that they had established an exclusive pasture of top flight genetics from cattle that are connected by pedigree to the great cattle that were raised at the Doherty Longhorn Ranch of Ft. Scott, Kansas. This select group of Texas Longhorn cattle are being cared for at 3 horses RANCH in Ripley, Ohio.

The initial group of animals are comprised of the ancestry of Doherty 698 and represent the best of that heritage. This pasture contains those cattle that emanate from Ranch Lady, Doherty 174, Measles Supreme, Delivery 1698 (daughter to Doherty's Delivery 698), Doherty 14, Doherty 22, the Tri-W 698's, PC Miss Doherty 7/9, OverWhelmer, Phenomenon along with other Doherty Longhorn cattle such as Prairie Fire, Bold Rose and Bold Wagon Boss. During the summer of '04 this pasture is being sired by the brindle Bail Jumper and Doherty 174 grandson Long Jumper (see bull section). This pasture is one of the key components of the brown brothers cattle company Doherty Genetic Blend program. BROWN COUNTY TEXAS LONGHORN PRODUCER WINS ITLA CHAMPION CLASS IN WORLD LONGHORN SHOW

Brown County texas longhorn producer, Brown Brothers Cattle Company of Ripley, Ohio recently presented to the Longhorn Cattle Industry a champion. Calypso, a three year old registered Texas Longhorn cow was presented with the championship trophy for All Age Haltered Cow at the ITLA show recently completed in Lansing, Michigan. Brown Brothers Cattle Company also won reserve champion heifer class and a mature unhaltered cow class as well.

Brown Brothers Cattle Company was established in Brown County Ohio during the spring of 1998. The Texas Longhorn producer specializes in select breeding genetics while offering rodeo stock and will introduce its' line of home grown freezer beef "Brown Brothers Cowboy Beef" during the spring of 2001. Texas Longhorn Cattle are America's first cattle and were popularized in western movies in the 40's. They were the hardy cattle that were used to open the west and were the cattle that are remembered for the great western cattle drives.
